Ugly Sweater Run Chicago

Fotor091985037Sure, you’ve heard of ugly sweater holiday parties, but what about an ugly sweater run?  That’s right! The original Ugly Sweater Run 5k is hitting Chicago on November 16th, 2013!  And unlike other races with early start times dragging you out of bed at the crack of dawn, this race doesn’t start until 11am!  Perfect if you’ve had too much eggnog the night before!

Not only do you wear an ugly sweater, which is fun in itself, but the entire pre and post race is a holiday festival with decorations, giant inflatables, snow blowers blowing fake snow  (or real depending on the weather), and holiday music!  In addition to water & Gatorade stations, there are also hot chocolate stations around the course!  Every runner gets a goodie bag with the standard items PLUS a custom vintage knit hat and tickets for not one, but two adult beverages after the race!  You can choose from Winter Lagers, Boston Lagers, or Angry Orchard Hard Apple Cider.

Families are encouraged to participate as kids 8 and under are free and strollers are welcome!  Clearly this is not a race about times or extreme athletes, but a fun holiday workout and festival for the whole family!

Sound like fun? It’s about to get even better!  Groupon has a deal this week to save $19 on the registration fee taking the price from $39 down to just $20!  This is great deal for a race, especially one where you receive TWO adult beverages.  Even the most expensive half marathons typically only offer one drink ticket with registration.  Click here to get this Groupon deal!

To add to the savings, we’d dropped rates for November 15th and 16th to just $99 when you book through this link!  With the race happening at Soldier Field, it couldn’t get any easier to welcome the holiday season in downtown Chicago with the Ugly Sweater Run! Walk out our front doors straight over to the starting line.

You’re more than welcome at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, 2233 South Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Chicago, Illinois 60616; +1 312 567 1234

  1. Despite the large numbers of tourists however, there are areas on the lake where things are quiet and serene.
‘A change is as good as a rest’ as the old adage goes and good
thing too, since a ski holiday in Verbier probably isn’t going
to give you much of a rest. The resort’s unique A-shaped design allows for each of the 290 rooms and 20 suites to feature ocean-view lanais.
